James Brown. Basically anything by him has a breakdown in the middle of the song.

Skull Snaps-It's A New Day

The Honeydrippers-Impeach The President

Melvin Bliss-Synthetic Substitution

Lee Dorsey - Get Out Of My Life Woman

The Winstons-Amen Brother

Syl Johnson-Different Strokes

Sly & The Family Song-Sing A Simple Song

You would be better off digging for your own drum loops/samples since all of these have been used already. I've gotten some good breaks off Doobie Brothers albums and even Genesis. You just gotta listen to a lot of music.

uh.....excuse me.......don't be fooled by the kanye west production ready samples all over the internet. Do not be tempted by these "made for radio" retarded samples.

To this day, the fattest, juiciest, thickest, punchy drum samples come from the anolog signal path of a james brown record. Clyde stubblefield has been my drummer for years and still competes with all these fake 808's.

some james brown and a little production knowledge bangs way harder than these gay 24 bit compressed to isht wannabe kicks and snares they got now.

look into Grizzly Bear, I dunon, they probably use samples themselve's though.

Maybe some Clash/Ramones, wouldn't mind hearing more people use punk drum breaks. Don't really know much about sampling though so don't know how it would work.
