My verdict on Eminem's relapse: It is 100% pure bullsh*t. It is sad, because I expected so much from him. Especially, when he is still blaming his mom for all of his current drug problems on the album... Yet, he is 36! My problem with this album is it clearly a sellout album. It was done for the cash. Instead, of bling, hoes and other crap, he utilizes murder, rape and other crap. In the past, it was funny. But, now it is plain sad and played. I really am dissapointed with this album.
Im sure his teenage fans will like this album. But, Em clearly tried to hard to be something he is not on this album. I find it funny, that he was once against "fake" people. Now, he has become one of those people. In this album, you will hear eminem "GASP" make fun of famous people, talk about raping YOUR family, give them an abortion with a hanger, kill others and... guess what... I have fallen asleep. It's not shocking any more.
On a positive note, I have heard Q-tips album. Which in my opinion is far superior as on overall rap album and comeback album. The renaissance is well produced and the lyrics actually allow me to think and say, "wow, someone put time into this." Overall, I have to say, this album was like a breath of fresh air, because there is no gimmick and I don't feel insulted after listening to it. It was just pure music, good rhymes and good feeling. I actually had to replay the album several times, because I want more.
Sadly, people are going to call Eminem's relapse the best hip hop album ever.
Im not sure what to think....
My question is: For those who have listened to both. Which album accomplished it's goal better? Was the renaissance a better comeback album and overall better hip hop album?
