Question:
Is Eminem the most influential rapper ever?
2009-09-08 20:32:43 UTC
Because so many white boys look up to his corny azz. Seriously, I've known at least a dozen friends, who are white, that love Eminem (even having posters of him and wearing Jordan/Shady gear) and at one point thought they to could rap, LOL.

Remember that MTV Video Award performance when Eminem had like 500 "wannabe" Slim Shady's with the bleached hair, LAME! But I remember when Eminem was blowing up like nitro and how many white boys were bleaching their hair and grabbing their nads like Slim Shady.

Lol, so true. He's only influential amongst white boys I aint got a problem with that though, cause you know they feel like they can relate to him but I hate when they sit there and try to compare him to great legend rappers and try to claim he's the best simply because he's white lol.

for sure it would have to be Rakim

The God, best delivery, charismatic, stage presence, rhyme schemes, word Play, choice of beats, and he looks like he'll eat an emcee if you make him mad enough.. Plus who has ever dissed Ra?? Who would. the dude is in his 40's and he still rhymes better than the average 20-24 year old emcee.

After him i would have to say KRS-1

He's been around for years kicking knowledge and ripping the mic. despite one previous diss from NELLY which meant nothing to him but outraged the hip hop community. He has all the tools of a dope emcee but hasnt gotten the mainstream attention.

I love you Duff Man...if I wasn't married I would marry you today...not only did you put all the Em Stan's in their place...but you made Derek realize what a idiot he really is.

It's a shame when a race or group of people say they "admire" or "love" a musician simply because of his race when Em was clearly an EMO, slightly crazy person. He was in no way a good role model for anyone and his music was his madness.

Great point.....I'm loving this!!

He is probably the biggest influence for dorky white people. To others he is just a good rapper. They need someone like Em to look up to though. I think it would be worst for them to dress up like lil wanna be ganstas!

Eminem is the most influential rapper for white people, NOT ALL BUT MOST white people.

N.W.A is the most influential rap group. I mean, most rappers are some what gangsta rappers. Who started this gangsta sh**, N.W.A. did.

I'm white, and I don't look up to him that much, but i do understand where you're coming from, theres a ton of guys at my highschool who think hes one of the best ever(but almost none of them know anything about hip hop). His old stuff is pretty good though.

No...well maybe to white people who can't rap. But to other rappers it was Rakim. He essentially invented great rap. Nearly every rapper studies him or gives him props. He invented wordplay and was years ahead of his time.
