Common - BE > Finding Forever?

I think BE was dope. Finding Forever might have been more on the lyrical side. But I liked BE better.

Uh... You could make the argument that BE is Common's best album (it's farrrrrrrr better than Finding Forever).



Substance, beats, rhymes, concepts...BE outweighs Finding Forever PERIOD.

Agreed! While I'm a fan of both album, BE just has that classic Element in the album. Kayne West did an outstanding job producing the album and I can listen to BE without skipping a sond. I can't do that with Finding Forever. I give BE a 5 and Finding Forever a 4.

To me, Be is a classic. Not one song that I don't think is great. Finding Forever has it's good moments (Black Maybe, I Want You, The People), but it also has some missteps (Forever Begins, Start The Show, etc)..

Plus, it's kind of weird hearing Common trying to rap using (then) current events, in a cringe-worthy fashion. I love "I Want You," but that line "it's kinda like the break-up with Jen and Vince Vaughn" has always been lame to me. And there are several pop culture references like that on Finding Forever ("driving herself crazy like the astronaut lady" < WTF Common?). It's not a deal breaker but it's a lil weird. On FF, Kanye outshines Common on every song they're on together because Common is rapping like that. Be is amazing and Common is in top form on that album. It's his best (IMO), followed by Resurrection

Yes. FF shines a lil bit. But Be was DOPE. Love Is is my fave track. Production was better on Be too. Even tho it was Ye on the beats on both.

Since Finding Forever produced my 5 year old's favorite song... U, Black Maybe, it get's my vote. BE is the truth also though.



Listening to him try to follow the song is hillarious and moving at the same time... lol

Finding Forever is worse than BE in every possible way. ESPECIALLY on the lyrical side.
