Buy/Sell: Most Americans believe a song getting radio-play makes it good?

I buy this. It's obvious most Americans use radio play as a litmus test for how good it is. Remember when Arcade Fire won album of the year at the grammys? After that happened swarms of people were complaining that they shouldn't have won because they were "nobodys" or "didn't even have a #1 single" even though they've sold millions of albums.

Or the fact that Drake hasn't met the same fate as MC hammer. This guy has a machine behind him that makes his career longer than we want it to be. And by "machine". I mean bribes for radio play.

BQ: Buy/Sell: Most teenagers don't listen to good music because they're a bunch of wrist cutting little twats that are too worried about being accepted by their peers?

Sell: As an American I know that there is a machine behind nearly every artist and that most radio stations will only play what they are paid to play or what to play. I have to also say that there use to be a college radio station where I live that would play just about anything, most of the time unedited as well. Smaller radio stations/ college radio stations are the ones that don't get paid to play certain types of music. I don't really listen to much of the radio anymore but when I do I sometimes hear a good song.

BQ: Sell....As a teen I didn't care what my peers were listening to. Most of them had never heard of Three 6 Mafia, and quite a few other artists that I listened to as a teen. My oldest daughter is 10 years old and likes music that is usually different than her peers.

It must have taken you a long time to come to this observation. Also, I don't see what's so impressive about Arcade Fire, their singer is just boring.

And Drake won't be in the same boat as MC Hammer. And nobody bribes people to get on the radio lol, you're right about your first statement but you're coming off as a conspiracy theorist honestly.

BQ: Sell. People listen to what's given to them, good or not. Plus, though I'm sure you and I have more in common musically than the audience you're speaking of, music is opinions so it's not really fair to call what others listen to "bad".
