Can an Eminem fan answer this question for me?

Question

So on some of his albums he's mostly Slim Shady when he's really silly, but then on others like Recovery, he's really serious and intense as Marshall Mathers? Which is better? Silly Eminem or serious Eminem?

I always liked his more serious songs. I just cant get into funny, pointless rap songs. I like stories, real life issues, etc.

Slim Shady to me was Eminem from 1999-2001, the time of the SSLP and MMLP. Each song save a couple were filled with some of the illest lines ever just for shock value. Then, you had the serious marshall in a few songs in that time span, most notably Stan.



Then the Eminem Show was the finest Marshall appearance we have seen to date.

Encore was the beginning of Muhammad Mathers, or the king of arab accents. Half the album was a masterpiece, the other an accented piece of garbage.



On Relapse, Eminem came back with the accents, but beefed up the lyrics. He brought back Slim Shady in an accented way, but fell short.



Recovery was Marshall v 2. It a average effot, but can not compare to the Marshall of The Eminem Show.



Eminem has three classics, and three O.K. albums. I honestly dont know where to put him as an all time MC. Top 5 from 1998-2003, and then a top 500 from 2004-2011...... Its hard.

Slim Shady isnt actually silly. yea, sometimes, but Slim shady's actually his dark side.

n Marshall is the good guy, Eminem the serious one. i think that in his album Recovery, most of d time there was Eminem, not marshall.

i'd say both r better. Slim shady's uncontrollable n hyper, n Marshall is a caring good guy he cares for his daughters... eminem is on down-to-earth matters, he makes sense n looks fierce n all.

Slim shady makes me laugh, Eminem puts some sense into me n gives me inspiration, By hearing to Marshall, i become overwhelmed.

I love every his side,just like every fan. But I have to say serious Eminem 'cause he's lyrics are deeper and real. He is also hotter with the serious voice. That's the only reason,'cause I also love when he's silly and disses everyone. :)
