1. Which of the following best describes Hip Hop to you?

All of the mentioned ones. Hip Hop Is ME!!

2. Which of the following Hip-Hop activities have you been involved in?

All of the mentioned ones. also Producing, Freestyle (not the same thing as rapping), and i cant think of any others right now.

3. How often do you go to live Hip-Hop events?

Not as often as i would like to.

4. Which of your personal characteristics, do you think have been affected by Hip-Hop?

The list would go on forever, but the first ones that come to mind are, being "straight up", my speech, beating up snitches, cant think of anymore right now. (and i dont feel like trying, but many of my principles have been majorly influenced by the hip hop culture. i would say about a third of them)

5. What is your main source of Hip Hop News?

This site, Newspaper, (pretty much where ever i get all my other news from.)

6. Who do you think is the most important figure in Hip-Hop?The Fans, (without us Hip Hop would be Nothing)

But a few of the figures that have had a big impact on Hip Hop are Tupac (Do i really have to explain The impact that this man had on the Hip Hop culture?), Jay-Z (he's just a living Legend, easily a contender for the most important figure in Hip Hop today), 50 cent (unfortunatly, though it was a negative impact that he made on hip hop, it is still important to the culture), Lil Wayne (again unfortunatly), and Eminem ("Spoke to a generation of angry teenagers Whom if it wasnt for rap to bridge the gap , maybe raised to be racist - Broke down barriers of language and races." (Encore) i think he had the biggest impact on the Race Stereotype that black people were the only people into Hip Hop, so that was pretty big.)

- Which of the following best describes Hip Hop to you?

The cliche answer is "culture." And while I think that still best describes hip hop overall, I think for me "lifestyle" is probably a better description.

- Which of the following Hip-Hop activities have you been involved in?

To some extent I have been involved in DJing, b-boying, rapping and graffiti. DJing is the one I pursued the most.

- How often do you go to live Hip-Hop events?

As often as I possibly can. I used to go about once or twice a month. I've been to five in the past year.

- Which of your personal characteristics, do you think have been affected by Hip-Hop?

To a very real extent, my entire outlook on life has been affected by hip hop culture. It affects the way I think about money (it's good but respect is better); earning respect (pay your dues and it will come); my attitude toward other people (diversity makes things better), etc.

- What is your main source of Hip Hop News?

The internet in general. I poke around on a bunch of different sites.

- Who do you think is the most important figure in Hip-Hop?

Wow, good question. I would go with either Afrika Bambaataa or KRS-One.

Bam is the one who really pulled all these separate things (DJing, b-boying, emceeing and graffiti) into one entity called hip hop. It was largely due to him that youth in inner city New York stepped away from gang culture and focused on artistic growth in hip hop.

KRS-One is kind of the ultimate product of the culture that Bam put together. No other individual in history has *lived* hip hop more than he has. You can argue that there have been better emcees throughout history but NO one has been more dedicated to the culture and lifestyle.

Who do you think is the most important figure in Hip-Hop?

Right now, Lil Wayne.

Im not saying that I love his music, but im saying that he has so many fans that he has alot of power in the hip hop community. If he started rapping like Mos Def or Common that would change hip hop. You can't deny that he is an important figure.

2. B-girlin'; graffiti

3. Back in the day - two to three times a week; now, only if someone's there that I *have* to see.

4. I wouldn't say any of my personal characteristics have been influenced by hip-hop (well, other than when I used to dance).

5. None.

6. These days I wouldn't think anyone is important to hip-hop. Back in the day, everyone.

My judgmental nature, I have a tendency to harshly prejudge people or music, and listening to Hip-Hop has decreased that tendency because so many artists have proved my initial reactions wrong.
